About
I constantly consider the product management profession and I see varying landscape that disappears off into the distance, but not in a uniform way. Wherever I look there is something new and captivating. Ideas emerge, thoughts coalese, people wonder and wander. But all the while, despite the phantasmagoria of best practices available online, I see it as variations on some real fundamental first principles. This is the reason I use the term toppology.
to·pol·o·gy noun
- The way in which constituent parts are interrelated or arranged. "using distances determined in this manner ignores existing road conditions and topology that can potentially affect travel time and costs"
- The study of geometric properties and spatial relations unaffected by the continuous change of shape or size of figures.
For both of those reasons I use the term; the realm of product management is nothing short of topology.
